The Independent National Electoral Commission has dashed the hope of a member of House of Representatives, Oladipupo Adebutu as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state, as the commission refused to paste his name as the substantive PDP governorship candidate.
The commission however insisted on Senator Buruji Kashamu as the gubernatorial candidate of the party.
INEC had on Thursday released the final names of governorship candidates and with their running mate.
It would be recalled that Adebutu and Kashamu have been on loggerhead over the control of the state party structure and the governorship ticket.
The PDP in the state has been divided into two factions, which include the Bayo Dayo group loyal to Senator Buruji Kashamu and Sikirulah Ogundele faction loyal to Oladipupo Adebutu.
Although, the national secretariat of the party through its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, insisted that Adebutu is the flagbearer of the party. While INEC maintained that they would only follow the judgment of the court.
