Vice President,Prof. Yemi Osibanjo on Monday will lead football professionals in Nigeria to flag off a football tournament at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, area of Ogun State.
The football tournament which is part of the plans to develop the sport sector in the country is an initiative of a Non-governmental organization known as Nigeria for Justice.
Nigeria for Justice is an association that assists the less privilege to discover their talents through sports and support the government on good governance.
The President, Nigeria for Justice, Olushola Orelaja who made this known to newsmen on Saturday said, the football tournament was organized to support the good governance of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Orelaja added that, the tournament would aslo develop the sport sector in Ogun State and the country at large.
Orelaja in what he described as ‘Buhari Osibanjo football tournament 2019’ , said the football competition will be one-day tournament between football clubs from sixteen (16) local governments across Ogun state.
He added that, the winner will be rewarded with N200,000 while the second position will be rewarded with N100,000 and the thrid position will go home with N50,000 including N20,000 to all clubs who participated in the tournament.
According to him, other dignitaries expected at the stadium for the football tournament flag off were the State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and all Football coaches across the state.
“This is the time to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo for their good governance.
“This organization is established to support the less privilege through sport, collaborate with the government on good governance and develop Nigeria sport sector.
“I am a FIFA agent, I work for major football clubs in the country and Diaspora. I think it’s the right time for me to come home and find a away to support this country through sports.
“Football is what I love most and I hope our plans will be achieved.
“This tournament is not political oriented because no political party nor any politician sponsored us.
“We felt supporting good governance is a necessary thing for us and we hope Nigerians will be happy about this development” he said.
