The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ogun state has been placed under ‘fire’ as residents of the state take him to the cleaners on his “helplessness” claim on the people of the state.
Akinlade, during a governorship debate organised by BBC Yoruba on Friday, noted that he has been to 211 wards out of the 236 wards in the state and stressed that all he could notice from the people is hopelessness.
Shock took over the atmosphere of the event as the people begin to raise eyebrows considering the anointing of the incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun on the APM flag bearer.
The debate was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL.
“I have covered 211 wards in Ogun state and have seen the hopelessness of people” he said.
In reaction to the claim of the governorship candidate, the people took to the social media handles.
Some of the responses on Facebook include; “Ogunpola Damilola’s “Hon Akinlade, APM Guber Candidate must be on a mission to sustain hopelessness?
Adiku Adewale “His Oga at the top and they want us to recycle them never kojo lake kojo loko
Tunde Ojo, ” That is a serious indictment on the administration of his benefactor Ibikunle Amosun, this is Political Harakiri”
However, four governorship candidates present at the debate include; governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Abdulkabir Akinlade, governorship candidate of Action Democratic Congress (ADC) Gboyega Isaika, governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Rotimi Paseda and governorship candidate of Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Ogunbajo Ademola.
