The body, however, advised the governor to meet them on a regular basis so as to get reports of the true feelings of the people adding that the people speak and listen to them.
“We urge you, our incoming governor, to be magnanimous in victory, and learn from the mistakes of the past administration in this state by giving the media industry the recognition and freedom it deserves while recognising independent broadcasters for their talents.
“Our members are closer to the people, they talk and listen to us, and we implore you to listen to us as we are the real voice of the masses. We also hope you will fulfil all your promises and create a lasting legacy that will speak for you forever. We hope you will surely do a good job. And to the other aspirants, we urge all of you to take this as the will of the Almighty and work in harmony with the new governor to create the state of our dream.
“Your election was through the votes of the people but the one who voted for you is the Almighty God because it is His will that brought you the victory. Your election is based on destiny, commitment and people’s trust.
“We pray for the wisdom and grace of God for you and peace for Ogun State throughout your tenure. Wishing you all the best that office entails. Congratulations Prince Dapo Abiodun”.
