Ogun to facilitate 6bn BOI loan

Ogun State Government has revealed that efforts are in top gear to facilitate the release of N6b from the Bank of Industry and Central Bank respectively to strengthen Cooperative Societies, Trade Associations and Community Development Associations in the State.

Speaking at a one day sensitization workshop on Cooperatives and Community Affairs organised for indigenes of Ewekoro Local Government, Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun said the workshop was aimed at sensitising and enlightening the people on the need to come together and form cooperative groups in order to benefit from the loan being facilitated by Government.

Adenmosun explained that the sensitization would be taken to all the rural areas to afford them the opportunity to access the revolving loan when it is finally secured.

He said the Ministry was ready to support and certify new societies but enjoined them to form formidable societies that would be efficient and credible so that when the opportunity comes they would benefit from the loan.

‘’Our Ministry is the catalyst for accessing Government incentives but they need to be enlightened so as to know what it takes to enjoy these benefits’’ he said.

In his remarks, one of the participants at the workshop, Alhaji Anidoye Amosun said they were delighted that Ewekoro Local Government Council pioneered the workshop, noting that BOI loan would afford them the opportunity to reap the dividends of democracy.

The highlights of the event include presentation of certificate of registration to three registered Cooperative Societies, Ewedun Itori (Ewekoro) CMS Ltd, Iwalewa Itori (Ewekoro) CMS Ltd and Oyinladun Itori (Ewekoro) CMS Ltd. respectively.
