Ariyo-Dare Atoye, a columnist is an emerging voice in the national affairs of Nigeria and one who has shown great courage in advocating several noble initiatives toward reforming Nigeria and recreating a new nation.
He believes that until Nigeria is free from the spirit and claws of the class of 1966 – the military boys who hijacked power and recreated a nation for themselves and their cronies till this day, our country may remain a nation in the dream of great potentials. The very reason he is dedicating his column The Reformist to speak for a new Nigeria, good governance and developmental politics.
Atoye is known for his consistent pursuit for an open declaration of assets by public official, to ensure accountability and transparency in government. He believes Nigerians must have access to the records of appointees. The columnist has led and participated in several initiatives for young Nigerians to have a veritable opportunity to serve and contribute their knowledge to development. He is also an emerging leader and amongst a few Nigerians shaping youth opinions on national issues.
He has worked in both the public and private sectors contributing his quota to national growth. He is a member of several civil society groups and also the Executive Director of Adopt A Goal for Development Initiative (GAADI). He is a qualified media professional with M.Sc in Mass Communications from the University of Lagos, Akoka and B.Sc in Mass Communications from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Ariyo was a former correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and still a developmental media professional. He is a God fearing man who would always want to be remembered for returning federal government money paid into his account after resignation from a public agency.
