Ogun monarch eulogises Alaba Lawson over emergence as first female NACCIMA President


The Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Dr. Adedapo Tejuoso has commended the choice of the Iyalode of Yorubaland ,Chief Mrs.  Alaba Lawson for her emergence as the first Female President of National Association of  Chambers  of Commerce Industry Mines  and Agriculture ,NACCIMA, describing it as a well-deserved honour.

The Monarch who played a host to the leaders of  NACCIMA led by  the outgoing President ,Chief Bassey Edet  at his Ibara GRA residence , congratulated the NACCIMA ,describing  Chief Lawson as a trail blaizer.

Alaba Lawson would be decorated as first female President of NACCIMA  today (Thursday) in Abeokuta.

Leaders and members of NACCIMA were in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital for  their  57th Council meeting , Annual General Meeting and investiture of new President of NACCIMA .

The Monarch while admonishing members of NACCIMA ,urged them to remember God in all what they do, claiming that ,Nigeria is suffering from not remembering God in what they do.

He said “in anything you do,we should remember our creator ,He will never forget us .That is what is missing in Nigeria, that is the reason for the problem of Nigeria”.

While eulogizing both the out-going and incoming President ,the Monarch commended the out-going President for making the platform for women to emerge while lauding the incoming President for her doggedness and hardworking .

In his remarks, Edet said he felt fulfilled as the 18th President of NACCIMA  since 1960,adding that for the  first time in the annals  of  NACCIMA ,a woman is leading the association.

In her remarks, Lawson  recalled how she joined the association, saying she was introduced to NACCIMA by her late husband  Chief Adeyemi Olusola Lawson.

While narrating her ordeal before her  emergence ,Lawson said “the road has not been all  easy, pledging to ensure youth are and women are carried along.

Presidents of some of the  chambers in the country as well as vice-Presidents and other executive of the chambers  were in Abeokuta for the ceremony.
