The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) Ogun State Chapter has commended the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, for her contributions toward fostering peace, inclusivity, and religious tolerance within the state.

A statement obtained by PLATFORM TIMES on Thursday, read that the  commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor on Wednesday, led by Ustadh Tajudeen Jimoh Alao, the Chairman of MURIC’s Ogun State Chapter.

Speaking at the event, Alao emphasized the guiding principles of MURIC, founded by Professor Ishaq Lakin Akintola, under the motto, “Dialogue, Not Violence.”

Alao highlighted the organization’s commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of Muslims across Nigeria through peaceful advocacy.

“MURIC is devoted to bringing Muslim issues to the forefront in the media, government, and public spaces, ensuring that the voices of Muslims are respected,” he said.

Alao noted the organization’s significant strides under its executive leadership, tackling issues such as the defense of Islamic dress codes, religious rights in schools and workplaces, and addressing anti-Islamic bias.

He commended MURIC’s proactive approach to safeguarding Islamic values and advocating for equal treatment of Muslims in Nigerian society.

Educational reform and equal treatment for Muslim students remain central to MURIC’s agenda.

According to Alao, MURIC promotes knowledge and excellence, emphasizing the importance of education through various community engagements and educational programs.

“By building bridges among Nigeria’s religious communities, MURIC reinforces that our nation’s strength lies in unity and respect for diversity,” Alao remarked.

The organization’s vision for the future extends beyond national borders, with Alao affirming MURIC’s global impact, inspiring Muslims worldwide to contribute positively to their communities while maintaining their faith.

“For MURIC, advocating Muslim rights in Nigeria is not just a duty—it is a commitment to fostering a better society,” he asserted.

In his address, Alao expressed appreciation for Salako-Oyedele’s leadership under the administration of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.

He pledged MURIC’s support in advancing the administration’s goals for Ogun State, reiterating the organization’s willingness to work alongside the government to further its achievements.

“May God bless Nigeria, and may God bless Ogun State,” Alao concluded, underscoring MURIC’s commitment to a peaceful, inclusive Nigeria.

This courtesy visit marks another step in MURIC’s ongoing efforts to engage with government officials, fostering understanding and collaboration between religious and state institutions in Nigeria.
