The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief (Mrs) Omodunni Morayo Lasisi, wife of the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Ogun State chapter, Comrade Alhaji Akeem Lasisi.
In a condolence message dated May 26, 2025, and addressed to the labour leader, Governor Abiodun described the deceased as a distinguished woman who lived a life of impact, service, and devotion to humanity.
“The news of the passage of your beloved wife, Chief (Mrs) Omodunni Morayo Lasisi, came as a deep shock and a painful loss,” the governor wrote.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and the good people of Ogun State, I convey our deepest condolences to you and the entire families of Lasisi and Akerele over this irreplaceable loss.”
Governor Abiodun noted that the death of a spouse is a heartbreaking experience and a test of faith, but urged Comrade Lasisi to find strength in the meaningful and exemplary life his wife lived.
He praised the late Chief (Mrs) Lasisi as a respected community leader, devout Muslim, and successful entrepreneur.
Her contributions, he noted, earned her the chieftaincy title of Iyaloja of Isale Igbehin, a testament to her influence and commitment to community development.
“Because of her passion for education and nurturing future generations, Chief (Mrs) Lasisi established the Omodunni Nursery and Primary School in Isale Igbein,” the governor noted, highlighting her dedication to uplifting others through quality education.
Governor Abiodun prayed for the repose of her soul and for strength for the bereaved family.
“May Almighty Allah (SWT) comfort you, the children and the entire family. May He also grant the departed soul Aljanah Firdaus,” he said.
The governor ended the message by reaffirming his sympathies and offering his highest regards to the TUC chairman during the difficult time.
