14-Year-Old Girl Dies In Hotel Room With Boyfriend: Police Launch Investigation

The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the death of 14-year-old girl, Shallon Ebitare in a hotel room in Yenagoa, accompanied by her 17-year-old boyfriend, Lucky Okubo.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the unfortunate event occured  on Wednesday when Shallon and Lucky checked into a hotel room in Yenagoa. 

Tragically, Shallon reportedly collapsed and passed away in the bathroom of the hotel. 

PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that despite immediate efforts to seek medical attention, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yenagoa.

Findings however showed  that Shallon and Lucky had been in a romantic relationship for several months prior to the incident.

In response to the incident, operatives of the Bayelsa State command swiftly apprehended Lucky Okubo on allegations of murder.

 The Bayelsa State Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Musa Muhammed, confirmed the arrest and stated that a discreet investigation had been initiated by the Commissioner of Police to uncover the circumstances leading to Shallon’s death.

Muhammed elaborated, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command apprehended a suspect in connection with the suspected murder of one Shallon Ebitare, a 14-year-old resident of Akaibiri Community in Yenagoa LGA.”

He continued, “The suspect claimed that the deceased went to the bathroom to take her bath but fell, and sustained injuries.

 Sequel to this, he invited the hotel manager who assisted in taking the deceased to FMC Yenagoa where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty. 

Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody at the SCID Yenagoa while investigation continues with a view to ascertain the cause of death.”
