In a landmark verdict, the FCT High Court in Kubwa has delivered justice, convicting and sentencing 15 individuals involved in a cyber fraud scheme.

The mastermind, Emmanuel Ndubuisi Junior, along with his cohorts, falsely posed as a Brazilian citizen and crypto investment manager, defrauding victims of a total of $7,800.

Justice O. I. Adelaja presided over the case, and all the fraudsters pleaded guilty to their charges. Emmanuel Ndubuisi Junior, Obinna Favour, Azuh Chidubem, Christopher Enaho, Abdullahi Sani, Atoyebi Damilare James, Chinonso Peter, Israel Samuel, Matthew Gideon, Eugene Joseph Boniface, Derick Beshel, Suleiman Dauda, Aliu Dauda, Ikechukwu Idris, and Godwin Ifeanyi faced the consequences of their actions.

Emmanuel Ndubuisi Junior was sentenced to one year in jail or a fine of Two Million Naira, with the additional forfeiture of $7,800 to the Federal Government.

Obinna Favour received a one-year jail term or a fine of One Million Naira, while Azuh Chidubem faced the same sentence with an option to pay One Million Naira.

Godwin Ifeanyi was given one year in jail or a fine of Five Hundred Thousand Naira.

The remaining convicts received non-custodial sentences involving various hours of Community Service under the supervision of Correctional Service officers.

Additionally, all convicts are required to forfeit their phones to the Federal Government, ensuring they cannot engage in further fraudulent activities.

This verdict sends a strong message against cyber fraud and impersonation, emphasizing the legal consequences of such actions.
