Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission numbering about 10 on Sunday stormed the head office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ogun State.
The arrival of EFCC officials at Magbon INEC Office, Abeokuta, around 2: pm reportedly caused confusion among the INEC officials.
The operatives who were in a crested jacket of the Commission were seen discussing with one another as they made their way towards the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Raji’s office.
When contacted, the head of Voter Education and Publicity of the Commission in the state, Mrs Adenike Tadese, said their presence was in connection with the presidential election results being collated.
Tadese said, “As I speak to you, we are about to start the collation of presidential election results, and that is why you are seeing them.
“They are here like others. All the stakeholders are here for the collation of presidential election results.”
But, further findings have shown that the EFCC men were in almost all the collation centres of the elections in the state, with a view to either arresting or preventing any financial crime.
Some of them were also sighted at the collation centre for Ogun Central Senatorial district and Abeokuta South House of Representatives election results collation centre.
