NPFL 19: LMC postpones matchday 11 fixtures

The Regulatory body of the Nigeria Professional football League, (NPFL), the League Management Company, (LMC) has postponed  Matchday 11 fixtures which was initially fixed for Wednesday 27th (tomorrow).

PLATFORM TIMES observed that the postponement is not unconnected with the last Saturday’s elections.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections were conducted in 774 local government in Nigeria on Saturday but the results are still being collated by the Independent National electoral commission, INEC as at the time of writing this report.

The league organisers disclosed the indefinite postponement in a circular by its Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, sent to all the clubs in the league and made available to newsmen.

The circular revealed that the matches slated for midweek have been shifted to a later date which will be communicated later.

“Kindly be informed that the Matchday 11 games scheduled for Wednesday 27th February 2019 have been postponed and a new date will be communicated in due course, ” the circular read.
