Court remands two for alleged robbery in Ogun

An Ogun State Magistrate Court sitting in Isabo Abeokuta has ordered that Nofiu Ayeyemi, and Adeolu Oyedele, be remanded in prison custody for alleged armed robbery.

The defendants with no fixed address were arraigned on a two-count charge of armed robbery and offensive weapon.

Meanwhile, the plea of the defendants was not granted.

The Magistrate, Mrs Sam Obaleye, ordered that duo should be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till March 4 for mention.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Olubisi Lawrence told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 10th at Ake Abeokuta.

He said the defendants were armed with charms, Cutlass, gun and other dangerous weapons.

Lawrence alleged that the defendants robbed Mr Jimoh Adeboye of the sum of N50,000, his Techno Phone valued N5,000.

He also stated that the defendants also rob one Mr Temitayo Sowunmi the sum of N30,000 and his phone value yet to be estimated.

The Prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 16(1)(b) and section 21(1)(b) of the robbery and armed robbery provisions of Ogun State prohibition law,2016.
