A 23-year old man Segun Adesanya who allegedly stole generator set valued N9,000 on Monday was brought before an Ogun State Magistrate court sitting in Isabo Abeokuta.
The defendant who was arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and burglary pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor Insp. Adejoke Adebari told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 2018 at about 5:30 am Itoko area of Abeokuta.
Adebari said the defendant entered into the house of one Habeebulah Adam where he stole a Tiger generator valued N9,000.
Prosecutor said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) and 412 of the criminal code laws of Ogun state 2006.
The Magistrate, Mrs Sam Obaleye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Obaleye said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must show evidence of tax payment to the Ogun state government.
The case was adjourned till March 3rd for trial.
