Man in court for allegedly stealing Laptop

A 31-year old man, Musa Hamidu has been brought before an Ogun State Magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta for allegedly stealing a Sony Laptop valued N23,000.

The Prosecutor, Sgt Boniface Agboh told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 28th 2019 at Quarry area of Abeokuta.

Agboh said the defendant burgle the office of one Oluwatobi Olowe on the said date where he carted away with a Sony Laptop computer and charger valued N23,000.

He said the defendant was arrested while trying to sell the stolen laptop.

The Prosecutor said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 390(9)and 411 of the criminal code laws of Ogun state 2006.

The defendant who was arraigned on a two-count charge of burglary and stealing pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate O.A Onagoruwa granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

Onagoruwa said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must show evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State government.

The case was adjourned till March 15 for trial.
