A father of four, Lamidi Adams has pleaded before a customary court sitting in Agbeloba, Abeokuta to dissolve his 28-year old marriage with his wife over her refusal to partake in his family rituals.

Adams accused his wife of not attending festivals that concern his family, claiming that love doesn’t exist between their union again.

“I don’t know anything about my children. She had turned their love away from me to an extent that one of my children named Aliyu went around to hurl abusive words on me despite the money I’d spent on their education.

The plaintiff’s wife, Oluwatoyin Adams, however, pleaded to the court not to grant the request of her husband, saying she’s keenly interested in the marriage.

Oluwatoyin attributed the conflicts between her and the husband as the devil handiwork.

She said, “I am still interested in this marriage and since we didn’t start this marriage this way and our Union wasn’t like this before, I believe God will resolve our conflict”.  She said

However, the court President, Chief J.O Sofolahan urged the couple to settle their disputes amicably before the next adjourned date.

He, therefore, adjourned the case till March 27 for the report of settlement.
