The Campaign Direction-General of the Allied People’s Movement, Tunji Ishola has disclosed that his governorship candidate, Abdulkabir Akinlade will reunite the former governors of the state.

Ishola made this statement while he delivered the vote of thanks at an interactive session with workers under the umbrella of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

He appreciates the union contribution towards the development of the state and described them as respected union across the country.

His words, “Let me commend you for your mature approach to unionism and development, it shows that Nigeria is advancing well, There is no doubt that TUC is a respected union across the country.

“The reason why am the Director-General of this campaign I must explain, I am not looking for any position at the state level but I have a duty because this state has given me an opportunity to serve as a minister representing the whole of Ogun state at the Federal Executive Council.

“So at any point in time in my life, I must take it as an obligation to see that Ogun state has the best in terms of quality and leadership.

“Navy Captain Oladehide Joseph approach me and said he has cause to worry on Ogun state, we are too politically divided, with the hostile take over between Olusegun Osoba and Gbenga Daniel, same with Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun.

“And he said we leaders must rise up to avoid this, no state develops with that kind of model, what has helped Lagos State till today is orderly transition and succession.

“If it works in Lagos State, then what is wrong with Ogun state, especially when we all know that Ogun state set the pace, the first time he said it, I ignored him.

“We meet again at a function, he pulled me aside and repeat the same thing, as a former military administrator in this state, he has interest in orderly developments.

“That was why I took up the challenge, and I believe for us to put Ogun state back to the standard we must stop all this needless hostility among personalities.

“Let us have orderly transition and succession in this state and I have told Akinlade to take it as his first duty, to reconcile Governor Osoba, Governor Daniel and Governor Amosun.

“So that our dear state can have peace and we all can relate with each other share ideas for the development of the state and that is the reason why I have accepted the position of D. G campaign.

“Akinlade has already subscribed to it and I believe by the grace of God when he assumes the office that will be the first thing to address”.

He also described the union as a critical stakeholder and urge them to continue to contribute their quota for the development of the state.

“You are a critical stakeholder in this state and for the love, you have shown to us I will want you to demonstrate same on Saturday and beyond.

“When this government come in place by the grace of God and the support of people, let change our psychology about us and them, we are one because is either you’re a citizen or a resident in Ogun state for that alone you are a stakeholder in this state.

“If you see that anything is going wrong in any administration, you should offer advice for leadership restructuring, because I see this as a problem with many administration towards the end of their tenure they start having issues with unions.

“It should not be in that way, let us present position, let say to people that we have done our best, let speak to our traditional rulers who are also stakeholders, so that every government can succeed and by the grace of God I believe Akinlade will succeed”.
