The Governorship candidate of the New Progressive Movement, Lt-col. Feyisayo Ladoye (redt.) in Oyo state has dropped his governorship ambition and declared total support for the People’s Democratic Party candidate Seyi Makinde.
He took the decision after four opposition political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, African Democratic Congress ADC, Zenith Labour Party ZLP and the Social Democratic Party SDP, on Monday signed an agreement to adopt Makinde as the consensus candidate for Saturday’s governorship election.
Ladoye, who hails from Ogbomoso, said his support for Makinde was due to the fact that he(Makinde) had the best approach to resolve the crisis affecting the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso.
He said, “Ogbomoso people are not betrayers and the true change is possible, Our people are independent-minded, ever-ready to support good causes and they will not be treated as commodities.
“Makinde has the best approach to resolve the crisis affecting the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, the economic base of Ogbomoso”.
He dismissed the notion that the Ogbomoso people were controlled by one politician, adding that makinde programmes are meant for the development of Oyo state.
“programmes highlighted by Makinde for the development of Oyo state, as contained in his Oyo State Road Map for Acceleration Development, were in tandem with the core values of the NPM”.
