“This area is a special area where people need water, I have conducted a research and discovered that there is water scarcity in this area and that is why I have decided that Isabo is the best area to.

“You should expect more, we are going to other communities in another local government probably Sagamu or Ijebu-ode to distribute water.

“My call to the government is that the government should also help by digging borehole in some local areas in all the local government in Ogun state. My target is to distribute 10,000 litres of water, at least one litre to a person across the state.”

On her part, the convener of Arewa Ogun beauty pageant, Bunmi Mustapha, described the project as the first phase of the beauty queen’s project calling for sponsors to support the water project.

“We are here to launch the first project of Arewa Ogun beauty pageant, the winner of 2018/2019 have decided to give back to the society through this project tagged ‘water is life’.

“This is the first phase of her project to contribute to the society which crowned her, here we have people fetching water because they have been having difficulties of getting water and we are here to give 10,000 litres of water.

“For now we are doing it individually because by the time we asked people for support they will know that their contributions cannot be diverted to another thing.

“Also we are going to make use of the fund generated from our sponsor but right now we are running the project individually.

“We just finish election but after the inauguration, we will inform the Ogun state government that the ‘Arewa’ Ogun is not only about beauty pageant but also to give back to the society and that through us they can get to the society.
