Man remanded in prison for Murder in Ogun

An Ogun State Magistrate court sitting in Isabo Abeokuta has ordered the remand of a 36-year old man, Jimoh Lamidi over alleged murder.

The plea of the defendant who is facing a count charge of murder was not taken.

The Prosecutor, Mr Bale Hinman told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 31st at Enugada area of Abeokuta.

Nimnan stated that the defendant stabbed the deceased, one Sola Pure water to death with a knife.

He said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State 2006.

The Magistrate O.A Onagoruwa ordered the remand of the defendant in prison custody pending legal advise from the Director of Public Prosecution(DPP).

The case was adjourned till June 9th for mention.
