A 24-year-old man, Adisa Razaq has been sentenced to six-month imprisonment by an Ogun State Magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta for stealing an Infinix phone valued N37,500.
The Magistrate, Olakulehin Oke sentenced the defendant after he was found guilty of the offence.
Oke said the Prosecution has proven its case beyond reasonable doubts.
He however ordered the convict to pay a balance of N14,000 to the complainant and also gave him an option of N20,000 fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor Insp. Olu Balogun told the court that the convict committed the offence on October 12th at about 2 pm at Oyinbo Villa Abeokuta.
He said the convict stole the complainant’s cell phone valued N37,500.
The prosecutor added that the complainant, Oluwatomiwa Daniel reported the incident to the police, which led to the arrest of the convict.
According to the Prosecutor, the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code Laws of Ogun State 2006.
