One person was feared dead and two others sustained various degrees of injuries in a road crash at tipper garage, along Lagos – Abeokuta Expressway.
The accident which occurred at about 10 am on Wednesday involved a Mack tipper with registration number KJA557XV which rammed into waiting passengers.
Spokesman for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the accident, but attributed the unpleasant incident to careless driving.
He said the injured have been taken to Ifo General Hospital and the presumed dead body has been kept in the mortuary.
He further said that the tipper has been moved away from the roadside and does not affect the smooth movement of traffic in the express.
His words, “The accident victims have been rescued and taken to Ifo state hospital and the Presumed dead had as well been taken to the mortuary.
“Traffic is not affected as the tipper has been removed from the roadside for smooth movement of the traffic
“Situation has been handled professionally and normalcy has been restored”.he added.
