… Indicts Tinubu, Osinbajo
The Allied Peoples Movement in Ogun state has petitioned the President of the appeal court Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa over the disbandment of the governorship tribunal panel in the state.
The Party stood against the panel during a Press Conference which was addressed by the National Chairman of the Party, Yusuf Dantalle where he listed five reasons for which the newly appointed panel led by Justice Josephine Coker cannot preside over their case at the tribunal.
It would be recalled that the Party had approached the court to seek redress over the outcome of the March 9th, governorship election in a petition number EPT/GOV/ 02/2019.
It should also be recalled that, PLATFORM TIMES had exclusively reported the disbandment of the Justice Onyeabo’s panel through an internal memo.
The party which expressed fear that it might not get Justice from the newly constituted panel linked the Chairman of the panel to the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
However, Dantalle who openly indicted the duo of Prof. Osinbajo and Tinubu in the disbandment of the Onyeabo’s led panel hence, requested that the President of the appeal court should disband the newly constituted panel and reconstitute a new one in the interest of justice.
Dantalle however read out the following reasons for the rejection of the new panel and they include that; “Justice Josephine Coker’s evolution and ascendency to the highest bench in the Lagos state judiciary.
“Justice Josephine Coker was appointed a judge under the auspices of both our Nation’s current Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. While the former was Lagos state Anthony General/ Commissioner of Justice the latter was the Lagos state Governor.
“While a Judge in Lagos state Judiciary, she was reported to have adjudicated over matters that evolved from a Law firm in which she was head and in charge while in legal practice. See Sahara reporter Dated August 6, 2015 with the heading “Lagos High Court Justice slammed with accusation of conflicting interest, By owning her own legal firm ,Justice Coker has been in breach of the code of conduct for judicial offices, blazingly disregarding not only the legal profession but also her office.
” it is a known fact that our Nation’s current vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo whom Justice Coker served with when he was the Anthony General in Lagos state is from Ikenne Local government area of Ogun state just as Adedapo Abiodun- The 2nd Respondent in APM’s petition, is from ikenne local government of Ogun state.
” Our Nation’s current vice President and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu belong to and are stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose party heralded the exit of the Justice Onyeabo’s panel by filling a motion dated 15th April 2019 demanding that the Chairman and members of the Ogun state governorship election tribunal to hear any petition against the election of the candidate of the 1st Respondent /applicant as governor of Ogun state in the 9th March 2019 governorship election conducted in Ogun state.”
