Auto crash claims truck driver along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

An unidentified trophy laden truck driver on Wednesday night reportedly lost his life in a fatal accident that occurred in Kyakyama axis of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway in Ogere area of Remo Local Government in Ogun state.

It was gathered that the accident which involved two trucks was caused by over speeding on the part of the one of the trucks which was loaded with Trophy beer.

The spokesperson of Traffic compliance and enforcement corp , Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the accident to our correspondent in Abeokuta over the telephone.

Akinbiyi explained that the Sino truck which loaded with beer reportedly rammed into a road side parked Dangote truck with no registration no.

He added that two other persons were also injured in the fatal accident.

The TRACE PRO, however, said the deceased was deposited at FOS Mortuary Ipara, while the injured victims were taken to the Victory Hospital in Ogere Remo.

He said, “a reported overnight fatal accident occurred around Kyakyama axis of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway inbound Lagos.

“The accident was caused due to reckless driving on the part of truck loaded with Trophy beer and rammed to road side parked Dangote Truck.

“The injured victims rescued to Victory Hospital Ogere Remo, while the presumed dead body was deposited at FOS Mortuary Ipara.

“I learnt the driver of the trophy laden truck was the presumed dead victim.

“Normalcy has since restored as the accidental vehicles were taken to Police MTD toll gate.”

The TRACE however urged the motorist to avoid excessive speed so as to avoid road accident.
