The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ogun state Students have jointly condemned in strong terms, an officer the of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Abduljabir Aiyelaagbe over his alleged move to set a bad precedence in the Nigerian Youths Council.
The embattled officer is said to be at the verge of breaking the rules of the council, the development which is said to be first of it kind in the youth body.
Aiyelaagbe is currently contesting for the post of the state Chairman of the Nigerian Youths Council but is currently been faced with an age falsification scandal.
Although, Aiyelaagbe isn’t suppose to contest any of such election for been an officer of the NSCDC.
In the release which was co- signed by the duo of the NANS Chairman of Ogun state, Bamgbose Tomiwa and NAOSS National President, Ogunrombi Gbemileke indicted Aiyelaagbe and call for a responsible intervention by the authority of the NSCDC.
The release reads, “With great sense of respect, we bring you greetings from our other members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
“Before now, our trust in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has been dwindling over lack of trust in the Corps but the arrival of the new Commandant, has rekindled our trust else, we wouldn’t write the Corps.
“We write not just to inform you of an intending violation of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps but to as well get you acquintted of the move by one of your officers to violate our and your rules and in turn set a bad precedent in our noble youth group in the state.
“In this respect, it is important to speak up on an age falsification scandal allegedly perpetrated by one
“As a well security structured organisation, we are sure you will have details of the man in question as we besiege you to confirm his claim of being born in the year 1985.
“We have a documents showing that he was bone in 1983.
“To further confirm this, the ministry of Youths and Sports can be contacted for his documents having held positions in the National Youths Council but the ucouncil can’t continue in error.
“Also, the man in question is a Civil Defence Officer and wanted to be the next Chairman even when the service rule does not give room for a serving officer to partake in political or union activities” it added.
