Police arrest cult leader in Lagos

The Lagos State Police command have arrested the leader of Black Axe cult group in Bariga, Adegboro Odunwole popularly known Gobe.

Odunwole was also alleged to be a vicious killer disturbing the Bariga area of Lagos State.

He was reported to have been on the police command’s wanted list for alleged involvement in several clashes and deaths.

The Police public relations officer in the state, Bala Elkana, said the cult leader was arrested on Friday afternoon at Akilo Street.

Eljana said, the suspect he would be charged to court.

He said the command also arrested a suspected traffic robber and recovered a locally made pistol with ammunition from him.

Elkana said the suspect, Emmanuel Daniel, 30, was arrested on October 29, around 4:30pm at Ipaja while attempting to snatch a bag from a woman at Boys Town.

“Policemen at Bariga also arrested a suspected phone snatcher Adewole Oluwatomi, 21, at about 7:30pm on Octver 27 around Ifelodun Street.

“The suspect used a knife to snatch an Itel phone from one Adeyemi Kayode, 15, inside Ebute Market. Police have recovered the phone stolen and the knife used. The suspect has confessed to the commission of the crime. He will be charged to court,” Elkana said.
