Ogun new CP resumes duty

New commissioner of police posted to Ogun state, CP Imohimi Edgal has assumed duty at the State Police headquarters, Eleweran Abeokuta on Monday.

Edgal who was a one time commissioner of police in Lagos state was until his assumption in Ogun state, the CP maritime headquarters annex.

The CP who arrived the headquarters at about 11am was received by members of the Ogun State police management team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of operation Department Dcp Edward Ajogun.

Earlier before the exchange of pleasantries with the management team of the command, Imohimi inspected the guard of honour and immediately proceeded into the office.

According to a statement signed by the command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the CP ordered that every officer attached to the command should immediately resume to their different places of assignments as there will be an head count of officers in command.

“All policemen serving in Ogun State should return back to their duty post from wherever they maybe as there is going to be physical head count of all the personnel attached to the Command.”

“He also ordered the cancellation of all forms of leave be it casual or annual leave, except in emergencies adding that all hands must be on deck to checkmate the activities of hoodlums especially during the ember months and yuletide season.”

He however promised to deepen and institutionalize the strategy of Community policing and community safety partnership to reduce crime in Ogun, in line with the objectives of operation puff-Adder.
