The Ogun state Governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement in the last election, Adekunle Akinlade has demanded for the deletion of a video where he was putting on pyjamas that was posted online.

Akinlade maintained that the posting of the video without his consent is a breach of privacy.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that a news medium had posted an interview where Akinlade was putting on pyjamas and the video has since became viral.

However, Akinlade in a statement by his media aide, Azeez Adelani said the news media ambushed him and he was not allowed to out on cloth before the interview was conducted.

He also described the act as unethical and breach of trust.

He further explained that he was not aware the video would be posted online.

The statement reads partly, “Hon. Adekunle Akinlade has described the release of an unauthorized video by TMmedia as a breach of his privacy and trust.

“In the morning of Wednesday the 1st of January, 2020, the Editor of TMmedia visited Hon. Adekunle Akinlade at his Agosasa country home and after exchanging pleasantries requested for an interview.

“The editor then requested to record the process to assist in writing his story which Hon. Akinlade obliged even though he was still in his pyjamas. It came as a surprise that rather than use the recording to write his story, the video was released to the public without regard to his privacy.

“The norm is that where a video recording is required for public use, the individual must be notified to enable him or her dress up appropriately. In this instance, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade was ambushed in his pyjamas early in the morning. This is unfair and deliberately orchestrated to embarrass him.

“This unethical act and breach of trust is unacceptable. The media team to Hon. Adekunle Akinlade has since requested for the deletion of the said video and an unreserved apology to the person of Hon. Adekunle Akinlade.”
