More revelations have emerged on the last Friday clash by some hoodlums in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun state.
It was earlier reported that the clash ensued between two groups loyal to two chairmanship aspirants in the local government area of the state , Tajudeen Ishola and Wale Bello.
PLATFORM TIMES had earlier reported that some hoodlums believed to be loyal Ishola attacked Bello and his supporters at the inauguration party of LG Caretaker committee chairmen and members .
But, PLATFORM TIMES’s further investigation exposed that the scuffle was between the members of two rival cult groups in the area .
PLATFORM TIMES discovered that in its further findings that the hoodlums are neither supporters nor in any way connected to Hon. Ishola.
A source told PLATFORM TIMES that Ishola went to the inauguration party with just few of his close associates who included his Personal Assistant, driver and two other persons.
According to the source , Ishola had left the premises where the incident occurred before caution was thrown into the wind . between the suspected cult groups.
Recent visit by PLATFORM TIMES to the scene of the clash , revealed that pandemonium broke out shortly after Bello reportedly failed to give largesse to hoodlums suspected to be members of different cult groups while leaving the venue of the inauguration party.
It was learnt that the groups reportedly began to fight each other following a perceived bottled issues on the part of the both cult groups.
One of the suspected hoodlums who spoke with PLATFORM TIMES on the condition of anonymity said the clash was purely between suspected members of Eiye and the Aye confraternity.
The source who lives around the scene vindicated Hon. Ishola, saying that the APC aspirant was not even aware of the clash.
The source further said that the hoodlums did not belong to any political group, but were just at the event to make money from the politicians.
He said, “The clash was between two rival cult groups and it has nothing to do with TJ.
“We are not supporters of anybody because we belong to everyone. We are just there to make money from those that came to the inauguration party.”
