The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has dashed the hope of 75 minor chiefs that were elevated to coronet traditional rulers by the immediate past governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun .
The state Executive Council at its first sitting on Thursday approved the revocation of the appointments of 75 minor chiefs.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the revocation was sequel to the report of Oba Kehinde Olugbenle-led Chieftaincy Review Committee’s report.
PLATFORM TIMES learnt that the report by the chieftaincy review committee which was submitted to the government faulted the process of the chiefs elevation.
While addressing newsmen after the meeting held at the Executive Council Chambers, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe, said the revocation was in consonance with the legal notice number three of 2019.
She added, “the Council approved the revocation of the appointments of 75 minor chiefs as Coronet Obas in Legal notice number three of 2019.”
