EFCC invades Mapoly, ‘abducts’ students

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday invaded the environment of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic and arrested some students of the polytechnic.

PLATFORMTIMES gathered that, the anti-corruption agency stormed the polytechnic environment around 8am.

PLATFORMTIMES learnt that the operatives accosted many of the students on their way to class while others were arrested in their apartment.

The operatives claimed the students were internet fraudsters.

PLATFORMTIMES reliably gathered that officials of the anti- corruption agency raided the students apartment and carted away laptops, phones and cars.

It was also gathered that the operatives carried out the operation in Abule -Ojere, Japo, Gbokoniyi and some part of Oluwo community.

A student of the polytechnic who spoke to PLATFORMTIMES on condition of annonimity said, the anti – corruption agency stormed every part of the student environment.

The student advised that all the polytechnic students residing in the affected areas should desert their apartment pending the time normalcy would be restored.

The student called on management of the polytechnic to find lasting solution to the problems of EFCC invasion in the student environments.

When contacted the Polytechnic Student Union Public Relations Officer, Comrade Idowu Johnson said the union is yet to receive the information.

He said the suspected internet fraudsters were not students of the polytechnic.

Every attempt to contact the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola proved abortive as his phone numbers were not reachable.
