Ogun State Doctors on Tuesday lamented the inability of government to provide data of travellers that entered the country since coronavirus had been recorded in the country.
They called for accountability and demonstration of love for the people in the country.
The Doctors, under the auspices of Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN) appealed to families of suspected coronavirus victims to ensure they present the suspected person for test.
Chairman of AGPMPN, Ogun State Chapter, Dr. Adeleye Kushimo stated this in a statement issued to newmen in Abeokuta.
Kushimo urged those coming from abroad to restrict themselves, saying it will prevent the spread of the epidemic virus.
The medical practioner called on States and Federal Government to put more effort in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
He charged hospital workers to maintain distance between themselves and their patients.
He said ” every person in that category should strictly confine themselves on arrival, keep watch on their health and contact health authorities as soon as they feel unusual about their health .
“It is difficult to know how many such incomers amongst us, moving about freely are infected and are spreading the disease .
“Family members should take responsibilities to convince their persons on the enumerated steps.
“To maintain a safe distance from ourselves for this period . It is a short time of little inconvenience that will prevent longer lasting discomfort and sorrow .”
