The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has promised not to disconnect non-paying customers during the period of lockdown in Ogun state.
The Regional head, Ademola Adewunmi said everybody would have the privileged of enjoying stable power supply only when there is safety threat.
He said this while donating food items such as 2,500 pieces of 5kg bags of rice, 3,000 pieces of 1kg Semovita and 1,500 cartoons of noodles worth N11 million to the Ogun state government.
The IBEDC regional head promised that the electricity distribution company is committed to providing stable power supply to the people during the lockdown period.
He added that the technical crew of the distribution company is on ground to clear any unexpected fault in power supply.
According to him, I am delighted to inform the public that IBEDC is committed to providing our customers regular power supply as much as it is within our remit and control.
“Also, we shall hot disconnect non-paying customers during this period except it is based on safety advise.
“Our staff on essential duty; the technical crew are on ground to clear faults promptly.
“All this is being done to supper the various government initiatives and help reduce the hardship the lockdown has occasioned on the citizens.”
Speaking on why the company donated to the government, Adewunmi said the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to the state.
He further added that it became imperative to support the government so as to fight the pandemic disease together.
He said, “all this is being done to support the various government initiatives and help reduce the hardship the lockdown has occasions oh the citizens.
“We are donating food items worth eleven million naira for the government of Ogun state. These donations are being replicated across all the states within our coverage area throughout the week and the next.”
