Leadership tussle: Crisis looms in Ogun NURTW as Baruwa dares Gov. Abiodun

Fresh Crisis looms in the Ogun state Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport (NURTW) as the the President of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa is set to install his anointed candidate, Alhaji Ismail Yaro ahead of Gov Abiodun’s candidate, Alhaji Akeem Abodunrin fondly called Iyeru.

It was learnt that that Baruwa is not leaving any stone unturned in his bid to ensure a successful installation of his preferred candidate popularly called Yaro despite many interventions from many quarters to leave the chairman position for Iyeru.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that in a publication by a yoruba newspaper, Asejere which was owned by The Nation Newspaper published that Baruwa has been using his connections at the National level to ensure Yaro is sworn-in as the next Ogun NURTW Chairman.

PLATFORM TIMES further reports that the paper added that Baruwa is allegedly reaching out to top politicians in the country to buy into his mission.

The paper also published that the NURTW president has also seek financial support from top politician.

In an independent investigation conducted by PLATFORM TIMES, it was gathered that Iyeru is reportedly the choice of governor Abiodun and he is enjoying that support as he is currently the caretaker chairman appointed by the Abiodun-led administration.

PLATFORM TIMES also learnt that Iyeru is gradually gaining grounds among the stakeholders of the union in the state.

It was learnt that he has secured over 90 percent of the union chiefs to his side including some loyalists of Yaro.

Some of the Members of the union who spoke with PLATFORM TIMES expressed readiness to support the emergence of Iyeru.

A handful of members of the union have vowed to remain loyal to Alhaji Iyeru.
