We bought fresh hands for one million naira – Ritualists

Four suspected ritualists who were arrested for being in possession of fresh human hand have confessed that they bought the hand for the purpose of making money rituals.

The suspects, Michael Itomu, John Feyisetan, Samuel Adegbola and Mathew Idosu claimed that , the idea of making money ritual occurred to them when they visited an herbalist in Owode-Yewa area of Ogun State.

The ritualists disclosed that , they bought the fresh hand for the sum of one million naira from one Mathew Idosu and two others who were still at large.

When asked where they got the fresh hand from,  the suspects explained that, it was Idosu who got the fresh hand from one of his family friend who reside in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

They explained further that, their secrect was exposed after they failed to pay the agreed one million naira to Idosu and the two other people who helped them to source for the fresh hand.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known in a statement issued and made available to PLATFORMTIMES on Wednesday.

Oyeyemi said, the suspects were arrested on Tuesday at Owode Yewa area of Ogun State following an information received by policemen attached to idiroko division that the ritualists had been in contact with the herbalist for making money rituals.

The Police spokesperson noted that, the herbalist demanded fresh hand from the suspects before they could embark on the money ritual process.

He explained that, the ritualists were arrested when the DPO Idiroko division Csp Opebiyi Sunday detailed his detectives in collaboration with men of so safe corps to lay manhunt for the suspects.

Oyeyemi maintained that, the fresh hand had been taken to idiroko general hospital for preservation.

He said “A 40yr old herbalist Michael Itomu has been arrested alongside three others namely: Mathew Idosu, John Feyisetan and Samuel Adegbola by operatives of ogun state police command in collaboration with men of so safe corps in idiroko area of the state for being in possession of fresh human hand. 

“The suspects were arrested following an information received by policemen attached to idiroko division that the four men had been in contact with the herbalist for money making rituals consequent upon which the herbalist asked them to provide a fresh human hand for that purpose. 

“The information revealed further that the suspects had contacted somebody in Abeokuta who had promised to get the human hand for them for a price of one million naira. 

“Upon the information, the DPO Idiroko division Csp Opebiyi Sunday detailed his detectives in collaboration with men of so safe corps to ambush the suspects as a result of which three of them were apprehended at owode yewa. Their arrest led to the arrest of the herbalist in the early hour of Tuesday 19th of May 2020.

“preliminary investigation revealed that it was Mathew idosu who contacted a family friend of his in Abeokuta who provided the hand alongside two others who are now at large. On delivering the hand, they demanded for the agreed one million naira but the money was not readily available, this led to serious scuffle between them and they angrily took away the duo of Samuel Adegbola and John Feyisetan to a bush where they thoroughly beat them before they were released on 17th of may 2020. 

“It was the action of those who supplied the hand that made the whole secret to be leaked which eventually led to their arrest. The fresh human hand has been taken to idiroko general hospital for preservation”.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police Kenneth Ebrimson ordered that the case should be transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation. 

He equally directed that, the police should should lay man hunt for other members of the syndicate.
