Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three armed robbery suspects.
The command also recovered two locally made guns from the suspects.
The suspects, Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun were arrested on Sunday, May 24 , 2020.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known in a statement issued and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
Oyeyemi explained that, the suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded idanyin community.
The Police Spokesperson noted that, the suspects raided the community and dispossed their victims of their belongings and inflict various degree of injuries on them.
He stated that, the armed robbers launched an attack on the police, but they were defeated .
He said “The suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded idanyin community and have been raiding house to house dispossessing their victims of their belongings and inflicting various degrees of injury on them.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO Agbara division SP Saleh Dahiru quickly led his anti robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the residences of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide.
“On sighting the police, the robbers launch an attack on them, but they were over powered and three members of the gang were eventually arrested while one of them escaped.
“The arrested members are: Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun. Recovered from them are two locally made short guns. The injured victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention”.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police Kenneth Ebrimson ordered that the suspects should be transfer to the special anti robbery squads (SARS) for discreet investigation.
