The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has expressed satisfaction on the ventilators, mechanical hand wash machine, electronically operated walkthrough door disinfectant and movable environmental sanitizer produced by students of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
The Ogun State Coordinator of SON, Engr. Jerome Umoru made the remarks on Tuesday during the official presentation of the equipment held at Raheem Oloyo International Conference Center.
Umoru commended the polytechnic for producing the equipment to fight the spread of covid-19 in the state.
He assured that, the equipment will be subjected to all necessary tests so as to confirm that they meet international standards.
The SON coordinator noted that, the agency is ready to partner with the polytechnic in certifying the equipment as fit for universal usage.
In his remarks, the Polytechnic Rector, Arc. Olusegun Aluko said, the equipments were produced in other to curtail the spread of covid-19.
Aluko added that, all the materials used in producing the equipments were locally sourced.
The Rector however appealed to the Federal and State Government to support the polytechnic’s innovation, nothing that they would produce large quantity if they ge financial support.
