There was tragedy on Sunday in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja when a police officer , Lasaka Habila, was electrocuted while cutting leaves from a tree.
The incident took place place opposite the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Garki, Abuja.
It was gathered that, the deceased who was a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), electrocuted by a high voltage from the high tension wire close to the tree.
A cutlass was seen lying around the tree at the scene of the tragedy. The cutlass was believed to have been used by the victim to cut down branches that were seen littered around the scene of the accident.
victim was later taken to the National Hospital, Abuja, by the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) search and rescue team where he was confirmed dead.
Eyewitnesses said the victim might have been electrocuted by a high voltage from the high tension wire close to the tree.
The victim, who was seen stuck on the tree, was eventually brought down by the Search and Rescue team of the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
