Panic as Ogun records alarming COVID-19 cases in a day

There is panic and palpable fear among residents in Ogun state following the alarming COVID-19 cases that were recorded in a single day since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the state on Tuesday alone recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the state to 471.

PLATFORM TIMES further reports that the new cases were confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The NCDC while confirming the new cases on its Twitter handle disclosed that the country has recorded 663 new cases across the country.

The NCDC further said that the 663 new cases were recorded from 26 states.

According to the statement, as at 11;59: pm June 9, Nigeria has a total of 13,464 with 365 and 4,206 people discharged.

Meanwhile, in the info graph released by the  NCDC showed that Ogun state is now among the top four states with the highest COVID-19 cases.

PLATFORM TIMES however gathered that this has begun to create fear and panic in the mind of many residents of the state.
