Chinese company donates facemask worth over N100 million to Ogun Government

A Chinese Company, Lee Group of Companies on Thursday donated 300,000 facemasks to Ogun State Government in order to prevent community spread of COVID-19 in the state.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the General Manager of the company, Mr. Philip Seng disclosed this while handing over the facemasks to the state government.

Seng noted that the facemasks worth about 300,000 dollars which translated to be over N100 million.

The General Manager stated that, the use of facemasks would prevent community transmission of COVID-19.

He urged the state government to distribute the facemasks to residents in the state, saying the facemasks was meant for everybody.

“The worth is about millions of dollars, one dollars each , it is about 300,000 dollars so at the exchange rate you can figure out the amount. 

“I have been in this county for almost 60 years , we  consider ourselves as Nigerians even though our skin might not look exactly the same. Our friends and families are all in Nigeria and we have over 30,000 staffs here in Nigeria , so this is not just for our own sake it is for everyone , for all States , for Nigerians” he said.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele who received the facemasks on behalf of the state government expressed appreciation to the Chinese company.

The Deputy Governor urged management of the Chinese company to device all means to protect their staffs from contacting COVID-19.

She advised the company to sensitize their staffs on the prevention of COVID-19.
