Speaking at the epoch event, a former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, said that the essence of governance is to uplift rural dwellers and open communities for rapid socio-economic development.

Osoba said the essence of opening up the hinterlands and making some basic amenities like electricity available to them during his tenure as Governor of Ogun State was not just to make life meaningful for the people, but also to discourage rural – urban drift.

Osoba, who was the Special guest of honour at the occasion, was represented by a former Federal Lawmaker, Kunle Adeyemi.

The ex-Governor commended Adeyemo, describing him as a young entrepreneur committed to bringing development to Massa, Ogun State and Nigeria with real estate business.

Similarly, the Olu of Kobape, Oba Alani Taylor said the Pelican brief will bring development to the community.

He further said, “we are happy with the development brought by Pelican to the community

“Where I heard that Pelican is coming I was happy . We know what we stay, to gain with the development. “

In his remark, the CEO Pelican Valley Ltd, Adeyemo described the estate as a smart city in the making and meant to bring upwardly mobile people in Lagos and Oyo to live in Ogun state.

He said: “The Unique Selling Point of Pelican Brief remains the proximity to the major landmarks in Ogun, all seasons motorable roads as u can see beside us, the 33kva trunkline on the high-tension wire beside us is a 23 hours of uninterrupted daily power supply.

“Pelican Brief as we speak, is one of the most sought after estate in Ogun state. This is because its easy accessibility from Lagos and Oyo States. It is less than 16 minutes’ drive from the Prof. Wole Soyinka’s Train Terminus in Abeokuta.

“For the records, the new federal government train which was scheduled to be commissioned by the president few weeks from now, is to run 160 kilometre per hour.

“However, Ebute-Meta to Abeokuta in less than 75 kilometres and will take the speed train just 30 minutes to Abeokuta.

“Meanwhile, the Prof. Wale Soyinka train station is just 15 minutes drive to our estates, making the total journey from Lagos a 45 minute adventure!

“Therefore, we’re targeting Lagos and Oyo states markets. We want to bring Lagos and Oyo to Ogun. We’re targeting all the terminuses in Lagos – Agege, Ebute Metta and so on.

“This simply means one can work in Victoria Island, Ebutemeta, Yaba, Agege, Ijora, Apapa and Ikeja and reside at Pelican Brief in Abeokuta. We’re also targeting the people in Ibadan too.”

He also listed many unique and attractive features about the location of the Pelican Brief Estate rural electrification project embarked upon by the administration of Chief Olusegun Osoba which installed a 33-KVA trunk line in the area, making it perfect for the project.

“Considering all these benefits, buying a plot of land at Pelican Brief now, is an investment of N2.5 million in the nearest future. However, we have a flexible payment plan which includes down payment of 50 percent of the cost and the balance can be spread over six months,” he said.

According to Adeyemo, it is not just buying a plot of land for a ridiculous amount of money in a bush and not getting necessary return on investment in 10 to 15 years that matters, but what counts is buying land at the Pelican Brief and have the assurance of getting over 100 hundred percent return on investment in just one year.
