The King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal K1 Fans Club, Nigeria hs challenged a popular compere and radio presenter,Wole Sorunke ,popularly called MC Murphy to deny if he did not collect a sum of N100,000 from the Fuji Maestro after the alleged assault.
The FANs club alleged that MC Murphy’s action was influenced by too much consumption of Alcohol drink.
It therefore faulted the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria over its call for the withdrawal of Maiyegun tittle on the Fuji meastro .
The FIBAN had on Friday called the Alaafin of Oyo ,Oba Lamidi Adeyemi to strip the tittle he bestowed on KWAM 1 for allegedly beating one of its members , MC Murphy .
Sorunke was reportedly beaten black and blue by Ayinde and his boys at the 60th birthday night party of the Olu of Itori, Oba Fatai Akamo held in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state .
But, the Fuji star supporters club in a statement tittled “RE-FIBAN : Asks Alaafin to withdraw Mayegun title from KWAM 1 for beating Ogun broadcaster”jointly signed by its National Chairman,
Adebari Korodo and its state chairman of the club Kehinde Olawuyi expressed displeasure over the allegation
The fans club in the statement said “the leadership of K1 Fans Club, Nigeria read the press release by FIBAN President with unhappy minds.
“Without being sentimental, going through the story put together by Mr. Wole Sorunke (MC Murphy) and FIBAN President, Desmond Nwachukwu, it shows there is something behind this.
“Its very important to make a proper clarification here.Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (Maiyegun of Yorubaland) is an ambassador of Peace, which can be confirmed from people home and aboard.
“What value will it be for a personality that God has blessed and placed in a position to represent good people of Yorubaland, for allowing people beating someone in his name.”
In it’s declaration, the club said Sorunke was economical with truth and had not told the world the truth about what happened .
According to the club , we believe MC Murphy didn’t tell the true story of what happened at the event to his professional colleagues, before he released the press statement.
It said the CEO of Olageospatial Global Investment Company (OGIC), Fasina Olajide could tell the true story of the incident.
The statement further read “If MC Murphy also tells the FIBAN president that the Music Icon gave him #100,000 on that day, we believe the FIBAN president will dig deep to get more details about the incident before rushing to the press.
“MC Murphy is a good presenter that loves his profession. But, its important in life to control ourselves than allow anything to have control over us.
“For people to know that MC Murphy action on that day was influenced by too much consumption of Alcohol drink.
“So, it is possible he has issues with some guys at the event. And those people take advantage of the event and the spirit MC Murphy was operating that day to settle the scores.”
While describing the allegation as surprising , the club said Sorunke had in the past benefitted from Maiyegun’s loyalty interms of patronization.
The statement read ” the leadership of K1 Fans Club is not here to exchange words on this incident, but to make proper clarification that our Mentor Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (Maiyegun of Yorubaland) has no connection with what happened to MC Murphy at the event.
“Note; It is not the obligation of Maiyegun to provide security to visitors in a public party for that matter.
” We urged the highly respected body FIBAN to critically investigate before coming out with a statement.”
