A petitioner , Mr Olalekan Olakitan Solomon has told the Ogun State Judicial Panel of investigation how policemen handcuffed him and paraded him on his street to embarrass him.
Olalekan said he was arrested on September 17, 2018 at Iyana-Ilogbo bus-stop on account of impersonation by four policemen in mufti who identified themselves as policemen from Eleweeran, Abeokuta.
Olalekan said “the Policemen were led by DSP Sharafa who told me a petition was written against me that the Commissioner of Police wants to see me for Impersonation”.
According to him, he wasn’t shown the petition written against him, but, I was dumped into the cell with duress
“I wrote a statement which was torn by CSP Adeshina and instructed me to write another one providing he will tell me what to write”.
“They took me to search my house but on the way I was asked to walk to my house handcuffed like a common criminal to embarrass me, for people to see me”.
“They even accused me of duping someone of N20million, I was later released on bail on September 30, 2018.”
He further added that he was called again by CSP Adeshina that he has been charged to court for Impersonation and was locked up again and on October 11, he was granted bail.
While making demands , he said “I want justice and compensation of N10million and also compensation for the violation of my human rights”.
