The new national leadership of Dawah Front of Nigeria has been sworn-in with the charge of avoiding distractions in the cause of discharging its responsibility .
The new leadership is led by Alhaj AbdulGafaar Muslihudeen who took over from Alhaj Abideen Ladeji as National Coordinator .
Others are : Prof. Sherif Adewuyi – Deputy National Coordinator ; Alh Jolaosho Sirajudeen , National Secretary; Bro Nurudeen Salaudeen , Assistant Secretary ; Dr Adiat AbdulNafiu , Public Relations Officer ; Bro. AbdulHafeez Mustapha , Welfare Officer .
Also , Bro. Habeebullah Ikeola , Financial Secretary ; Sister Halimah Abdur-Rahim, National Auditor ; Mrs. Mustapha Zaynab, Treasurer ; Tpl Abideen Ladeji – Ex -officio I ; Alh. Abdur-Rahman Maku , Ex-Officio II.
The Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Alhaj Qassim Alabi announced the names of the new Exco on behalf of the Chairman of the BoT, Alhaji Waheed Kadiri .
Speaking shortly before the announcement, the National Missioner of Dawah Front of Nigeria, Prof. Imam Taofiq AbdulAzeez warned the new Exco to be wary of three distractions which he said could lead to their failure .
The distractions, according to Imam AbdulAzeez, are : Money ; women and politics.
He enjoined them to avoid prioritising money in the cause of discharging their responsibility.
He said affordable programmes should be priotised .
He advised the new Exco to avoid any expensive programme that is not affordable .
He urged them to listen to women but not to take action over all their complaints .
On politics , he advised the new Exco to avoid influence from politicians.
He however said the organisation could not do without politicians.
He enjoined them to manage members of the organisation that are into politics .
The National missionary also noted that the organisation is facing some challenges, saying, efforts have always been on to ensure the organisation is not crash landed anytime there is need for change of exco.
In their goodwill messages , past National Coordinators Dr Rabiu Kusimo ; Alhaj AbdukKabir Omosanya ,Engr. Qamardeen Babalola and Tpl Abideen Ladeji pledged their supports to the new leadership .
In his message, the pioneer National Cordinator , Dr. Kusimo congratulated the past Exco for safe landing and wished the new Exco a goodluck .
He however called the attention of the new Exco to three things which are: the words of Allah ; Ways of the prophet and understanding of the founding fathers of Dawah Front of Nigeria .
According to him , the three things formed the vision , the mission and the style of Dawah Front of Nigeria.
While making a reference to the earlier remarks by Imam AndukAzeez , Dr. Kusimo also advised the new Exco to “negotiate the bends and avoid potholes.
He said “success is not an accident . The effort that will put together is what grants us success .
“I Pray to Allah to help you manage the success.
“We need to make impacts in our communities”
In his short goodwill message ,Alhaj Omosanya whose speech was read by Alhaj Adisa congratulated the new Exco and pledged his supports to the new leadership .
In his remarks , Engr Qamardeen Babalola anchored his goodwill message on Q11 vs 112 which emphasised on the need to be firm and steadfast .
He harped on the need to be accountable to Allah and the followers .
He also enjoined members of the organisation to engage in brotherhood.
He said Islam is anchored on Brotherhood while brotherhood is anchored on love .
Engr. Babalola advised the new Exco to adopt prophetic culture in doing things in the organisation .
He also urged the new Exco to be lenient with the followers .
The immediate past National Cordinator, Tpl Ladeji stressed on the need to be financially independent .
He also advised the new Exco to focus its programme on the youths saying, youth programme and projects should be priotised .
In his acceptance speech , the new National Cordinator said he had mixed feelings when he was asked to take up the leadership challenge .
He said he was overwhelmed with his status compared to the myriad of professors and heavyweight personnel abound the Dawah Front of Nigeria..
He however pledged to consult, be honest , work hard and collaborate with other Dawah organisations that shared with DF vision .
He said “when this matter was discussed with me, I really opposed this position with mixed feelings for some reason. I believed I am the least of all if you chose me, a student to lead professors. I see it as an attempt to learn more in this organisation .
“We will try all our best and make sure we consult. We will try to be honest, we will work hard ,We will collaborate with Dawah organisations that shared with our vision . We don’t see them as our competitors.
“There is no success except which has been granted .We will review our programmes. We will work with management of our critical organisation, youths and others.”
The BoT Chairman ,Alhaj Waheed Kadiri in his goodwill message lauded both the new and past Excos .
He said “leadership goes beyond being the leader in the front …working as a team is inevitable for you…
He advised the new national Coordinator to carry along his team in his decisions .
