The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman, yesterday assured intending participants in the ongoing revalidation exercise that the party has put up a strong mechanism to restock and address the scarcity of cards being experienced.
Hadiza, who gave the assurance after re-validating her membership of the party in Katsina, also called on women to continue to turn out en-masse to participate in the national registration exercise or be sidelined in politics and governance.
She argued that women are the backbone of the society and should not allow themselves to be marginalised in the scheme of things.
She said, “If people run out of cards, there is a mechanism that the party put in place for such instances to take necessary action and obtain an ad-hoc arrangement that the party has made for members that are in a political unit that do not have enough registration cards.’’
“So the party has thought of that. We are a very popular party, so we had anticipated a situation where cards would run out. So there’s mechanism that has been put in place to explore and they will definitely register into the party.’’
She said, “This is very important. The revalidation of our party membership registration is key to mobilisation and for me as a woman, I represent women in our party and I encourage all women in our party to come and participate.’’
Earlier, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Alhaji Shitu Shitu, in a remark described Hadiza Usman as a very loyal and committed member of the party.
He pointed out that APC members and the entire people of Katsina State are happy with her performance as Chief Executive Officer of NPA, urging her to redouble her effort in her work.
