The management of a fast growing music record label in Nigeria, TNKAY Music World (TMW) have described the Grammy awards as a big win for the Nigerian music.
The label chairman, Temmie Olabode said this while addressing newsmen on the impacts of music on the development of any nation.
Olabode who said the music industry is experiencing growth promised that the label will use its influence to promote African values.
In her words, “In Nigeria today, the entertainment industry have been a fast growing business in the country. Entertainment industry is a business that generates value by providing people with something interesting to do. It’s a form of activity that holds the attention or gives pleasure and delight to people.
“The global recorded music industries are experiencing a period of growth over the years. This rapid transformation of the music industry is through the innovation by record labels.
“Winning the Grammy is a big one for Nigerian music industry. Music business is a serious business and can’t be put aside.
“We at TMW will use influence as a label to promote African values because this part of the world values cultural heritage.
“The world will focus on the Nigerian Entertainment industry now. We will create opportunities for serious, talented artistes; we will make the music industry in Nigeria stand out to an enviable height.”
The label had just signed the crooner of ‘pass me your love’, Ayoola Johnson, popularly called Ay.com and also appointed Habeeb Whyte, the Ogun based lawyer as its legal adviser.
