The New Nigeria Peoples Party, Ogun State has offered free form to intending aspirants, as well as promised to ensure free and fair election in the state.
This came after the Guidelines and Time Table released by Ogun state Independent Electoral Commission for the conduct of elections into the offices of Local Government Chairmen and Councillors.
The major opposition party in Ogun state noted that, it has begun the distribution of Expression of Interest forms to intending aspirants at free of charge.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NNPP Chairman, Comrade Olaposi Oginni and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Oginni noted that, the free form will be given to both gender.
The NNPP Chairman explained that the motive for the free form is to make people in the grassroots enjoy the ‘dividend of democracy’.
Oginni in the statement said, “NNPP will be given the forms to interested aspirants both male and female for free of charge.
“This is to further buttress the zeal of the party in making political platform affordable to the commoners in the society. The Free EOI Forms demonstrates the commitment of NNPP Leadership to encourage Nigerian Youths to Participate in Politics at zero Cost.
“The collection of EOI forms will be between 11th and 25th of May 2021.
“The deadline for the submission of forms shall be 25th of May 2021
“NNPP hereby use this medium to call on all citizens of Ogun state who have interest in bringing development to the state to come to the party Secretariat to obtain the forms freely”.
Meanwhile, Oginni also declared that NNPP is ready to revive Ogun State from Dapo Abiodun-led government.
“Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday the Chairman of NNPP in Ogun State also reiterated the passion and determination of NNPP to take over governance from the present clueless Dapo Abiodun-led government in 2023 starting from this coming LG Election
“We will do everything legally possible to make sure the coming LG Election is free and fair to enable people of the grassroots to get the dividends of democracy”, the statement concluded.
