The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Ogun state Branch, has warned drivers against reckless driving during festive period.
The union equally appealed to Nigerians to use the Sallah period to reflect on the socio-political, security architecture, economic and religious affairs of the country.
The Chairman of the Union, Akibu Titilayo (Efele) who spoke through the State Secretary, Tiwalade Akingbade on Thursday in Abeokuta, urged Nigerians to let their actions match their prayers.
Akibu particularly asked motorists to drive responsibly on the road to ensure accidents on the road are reduced during and after the period.
“As we conclude the Ramadan and celebrate the Sallah, we must take actions that match our prayers.
“We have to reflect on our attitudes, our contributions to nation-building and to humanity.
Akibu therefore urged Muslims to continue to reflect on the lessons and virtues of the season, and sustain them beyond the celebration.
The Chairman also pledged the support of the union to the state government towards development the transport sector in the state.
