Officers of the Nigerian Police force, Special squad are currently looking for a monarch identified as Oba Adewale Adeniji, the Oniranike of Iranike for allegedly bringing hoodlums to terrorise residents of Oke Rala village, Shimawa area of Sagamu, Ogun state.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that men of the Nigeria Police Force, Special Squad have apprehended three among the suspected hoodlums.
The suspected hoodlums arrested were Afeez Sunday 41yrs old “m” of Ikorodu LGA, Surajudeem Isiaka 33yrs old “m” of Ikorodu, and one Muranikeji Ogunkeye 32yrs old “m” of Ikorodu LGA of Lagos state.
It was also gathered that the three suspects who were said to have been working for the wanted monarch were arrested on the land belonging to Olumeru Adeyemi Sodiya Family in Oke Rala village, Shimawa area of Sagamu.
According to a source in the police, the search for the said monarch began following a distress call from residents of Shimawa, a community in the Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State to the force special squad over incessant kidnapping and and violence in the community by the said monarch and his boys.
According to the source during the raid, live ammunition and dangerous weapons were recovered from the gang of land grabber apprehended in which others and the monarch are still at large.
PLATFORM TIMES learnt that the terror on the thirteen villages started after Oba Adewale Adeniji claimed that he had secured a judgement over the ownership of a land in the community said to be 4, 000 acres.
In his bid to secure the land by force and not waiting for court to execute the Judgement he said was in his favour, Oba Adewale Adeniji was said to have brought some boys who were armed with guns and other weapons.
The said boys brought by the monarch to recover the land for him were said to have used the opportunity to terrorise people in the community and nearby villages by kidnapping some for ransom and also forcefully retrieving belongings of residents.
Same hoodlums was said to have left one Lukman Kareem with high degree of injury, his left eye was reportedly damaged by the gang, while several residents were also injured and displaced
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the Ogun State House of Assembly had earlier summoned the monarch to appear before lawmakers on January 23, 2021 to tender his documents proofing him as the genuine owner of the 4,000 Acres of land but he couldn’t provide any.
